History

in March of 2019, Director Alan Scott had an idea that we needed a top-quality women's chorus in the Coachella Valley.  As a starting point, Alan made contact with Sweet Adelines International, who connected him with the Region 21 Management Team Coordinator, and together they got the ball rolling.  The fledgling chorus had its first rehearsal on July 1st of that year with about 12 singers present.  Then... COVID-19 came along and shut things down.  But Alan and the dedicated group of singers knew that they had started something exciting.  They continued meeting via Zoom throughout the ups and downs of the next 2 years' openings and closings.  The chorus was able to rehearse together again in person in October and November 2020 and actually got to perform for a few audiences around the holidays before being forced back online by another surge in virus cases.  Now Coachella Acappella is back and working hard toward our first full-length show!  Originally slated for early April 2022, and postponed until 2023 due to a temporary return to online rehearsal, it will showcase the music of the 60s.
